Position Overview:

A postdoctoral position  is currently available within the Cardiopulmonary Physiology And Mechanical Support (CPAMS) Research Group at the University of Basel’s Department of Biomedical Engineering (DBE). The role focuses on advanced cardiovascular and respiratory physiological modeling in critical care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate computational models addressing cardiovascular and respiratory physiology.
  • Analyze preclinical and clinical datasets, extracting meaningful insights.
  • Collaborate directly with clinicians to ensure translational impact of research findings.
  • Contribute to grant writing and funding acquisition efforts.
  • Publish research outcomes in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in programming, particularly with Python and MATLAB.
  • Experience with signal processing, data analysis, and computational modeling methodologies.
  • Prior knowledge of cardiovascular and respiratory physiology is highly desirable.
