Temporary Suspension of Civil Flight Operations

Temporary Suspension of Civil Flight Operations at Select Airports and Air Routes.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and other aviation authorities have issued Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) that call for a temporary shutdown of 32 airports in the northern and western parts of India. This closure will affect all civil flight operations from the 9th to the 14th of May 2025, concluding at 0529 IST on the 15th of May 2025. This step is being taken due to operational needs.

The list of airports that will be part of this temporary closure is as follows:

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is extending the temporary shutdown of 25 sections of Air Traffic Service (ATS) routes. These sections are within the Delhi and Mumbai Flight Information Regions (FIRs). This closure is due to operational reasons, like a little break for the airways.

According to NOTAM G0555/25, which takes over from G0525/25, these 25 route sections won't be open from the ground all the way to as high as you can imagine until 2359 UTC on 14th May 2025, which is 0529 IST on 15th May 2025.

Airlines and flight operators have been asked to plan new routes based on the latest air traffic updates. This temporary closure is being carefully coordinated with the right Air Traffic Control units to ensure safety and minimize any disruption.
